Canfield Republican Women’s Club is sponsoring a quarter auction June 7 at the Shrine Club, 1735 W. South Range Road, North Lima. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and auction begins at 6. CRAFT SHOWS
United Quilt Guild of Salem will present the 2017 Quilt Show on July 14, 15 and 16 at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. The theme is Color My World With Quilts. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 14; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 15; and 1 to 5 p.m. July 16. Admission is $6. There will be awards, vendors, quilt auction, demonstrations, lectures, workshops, quilt raffle, raffle baskets and refreshments. Registration deadline is June 5 for quilt entries. Poland Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. June 30 on the church lawn, 2 Poland Manor. Simply Slavic Festival organizers are seeking authentic Slavic retail, crafts, fine arts and food vendors for its seventh annual Simply Slavic Festival from noon to midnight June 17 on Federal Plaza East, downtown Youngstown. There will be a baking contest for amateur bakers. Baked goods must be Slavic and must be served to judges at room temperature. Deadline to enter is June 9. Breath of Life Church will host a Christian Community Merchants Expo Saturday at Word Centered Presbyterian Church, 710 Carnegie St. Sharon, Pa. St. Luke Holy Name Society is planning its ninth annual golf outing for 1 p.m. July 22 at Bedford Trails Golf Course. All proceeds will be used to replace or repair facility equipment. There will be a shotgun start and a four-man scramble. Men and women are welcome. Event sponsors are $500; gold sponsors, $360; silver sponsors, $150; and hole sponsors, $75. RAFFLES
Cars are the Stars 3 Benefit Classic Car Show begins at 8 a.m. Saturday (rain date is June 10) at the Girard Multi-generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., Girard. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the show at 1 p.m. Trophies will include Best in Show awarded at 3:30. Crazy Dave will DJ and T-shirts, food and beverages will be available to purchase. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothing for the entire family. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays. Yellow ticket items, except purses and jewelry, will be discounted 20 percent for the month.
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will host its annual festival rummage sale from 6 to 9 p.m. June 6 through 10, and from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. June 11 in the school cafeteria. Special prices will be offered June 11. There also will be a basket and gift-card raffles.
Ohio Living Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, is accepting donations for its rummage sale July 11 through 31. No clothing, televisions or computer monitors will be accepted. Items that can be donated include appliances, baby items, books, collectibles, crafts, decor, furniture, jewelry, kitchenware, electronics and sporting goods. Donations can be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. If unable to take items to the center, call 330-744-5071 to have it picked up.
Poland Lions are hosting a treasures of the trunk sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10 at Poland High School stadium parking lot. Vendors are being sought. Pythian Sisters will host a rummage and bake sale at Knights of Pythians Hall, 123 College St., West Farmington, Pa. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, $2 bag day. Books, clothing and household items will be available. Lunch will be served on Friday.
