v Packard Concert Band, 3 p.m.: This special concert (free admission) will honor fallen members of the U.S. Armed Forces. It’s at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.
v East Palestine Street Festival, 1-8 p.m.: Final day of this annual event that features amusement rides, festival food and games, entertainment and more in downtown East Palestine.

“National Memorial Day Concert” (8 p.m., PBS): Laurence Fishburne and Joe Mantegna host the “National Memorial Day Concert” from the U.S. Capitol’s West Lawn. The annual salute to America’s military heroes will feature performances by Renie Fleming, Vanessa Williams, Scotty McCreery and others.

Juried art exhibit seeks submissions
NILES
The Community Artworks Regional Art Exhibit is accepting submissions through Aug. 17 from artists within a 50-mile radius of Niles.
The annual juried art exhibit will take place at Art Outreach Gallery in Eastwood Mall from Oct. 6 to Nov. 12. Click on the “entry thingy” link at communityartworks.com.
The juror this year is Kimberly Koller-Jones, executive director of the Hoyt Institute in New Castle, Pa.
A total of $650 in prize money will be awarded. The exhibition accepts all media and is open to persons 18 and older.
Community Artwork will be creating a 2018 local artist calendar as a companion to the exhibit this year. Applicants will be asked to agree to have their piece considered for the calendar, and give permission to publish it.
Pieces selected for the calendar do not have to be selected for the exhibit. All entries will be considered.

Boogie Woogie Kid to appear at library
WARREN
Matthew Ball, aka the Motor City Boogie Woogie Kid, will appear at Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, on June 24 from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
An attorney turned musician, Ball is a YouTube sensation.
His performance will be followed by Gene Worthington as President Theodore Roosevelt.
Admission is free.
