WARREN

Brandi L. Davis, 35, of Van Wye Street Southeast is in the Trumbull County Jail, charged with three counts of child endangering and two counts of cruelty to animals after police found her children to have “head-to-toe flea bites.”

There also was no food in the house, and two of the dogs in the home were malnourished.

Police were first called to her house Wednesday for a child left alone. When they arrived, there was one child and one adult in the home, but investigators felt the child was not being properly cared for. The two other children arrived while police were there.

After a short investigation, Trumbull County Children Services removed the three children, ages 8, 10, and 11, and placed them with relatives. Davis admitted to having used heroin that day, said Detective Nick Carney.

Three dogs were placed in the custody of the county dog warden.

On Thursday, after receiving additional information, police went back to the Van Wye address, located Davis in a vehicle in the driveway and arrested her.

She pleaded not guilty to the five charges Friday in Warren Municipal Court, and Judge Terry Ivanchak set bond at $12,500. He ordered her to have “absolutely no contact with children.”
