Guests went back in time on April 26 at the Poland library to learn about William Shakespeare.

Youth librarian Jen Kuczek got the idea from when the Austintown library was invited to Austintown Fitch High School’s William Shakespeare Day. There were several tables set up around the library that contained information and hands-on activities about Shakespeare.

The different stations included an insult generator, a match game, a puzzle and color station, a photo booth, a “Name that Headline” game and several others. There was a Readers Theater set up with chairs placed in a half circle referencing the Globe Theatre for the guests to sit and listen to a story.

Kuczek said this program brought in many more people than she expected, and various types of people. Many children who attended were home-schooled and the program gave them the opportunity to learn and engage with the different Shakespeare stations.

The programs at the Poland library are designed for guests to come learn about new things in a fun way.
