A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

May 19

Drugs: Authorities on a traffic stop near North Main Street reported having found a device commonly used to grind marijuana, several suspected marijuana cigarettes and loose tobacco for marijuana use. Charges were pending.

Menacing: A man alleged a motorist had threatened to shoot him as the accuser drove in the 100 block of East Liberty Street.

Possible identity fraud: A Wheeler Street woman told police she received three in the latest of a series of packages she had never ordered, though the woman said she found neither suspicious activity nor unauthorized charges to her credit-card account.

Felonious assault: Police charged two 16-year-old Youngstown boys with obstructing official business, and one with felonious assault, after a 15-year-old boy at a state Route 304 fast-food restaurant reported having been dragged outside of the establishment and jumped. The teen’s injuries included a concussion, a broken tooth and a neck sprain, a report showed.

May 22

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 100 block of West Liberty Street led to J.C. Williams’ arrest after officers discovered Williams, 66, of Warwick Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a warrant that accused him of failing to appear in court on a charge of passing bad checks.

LIBERTY

May 18

Domestic violence: Dallas L. Humphrey Jr., 38, of Roosevelt Drive, Liberty, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged that during an argument about a Facebook message, Humphrey had struck her several times in the right ear, then bit her right hand.

Fight: Officers were dispatched to the 10 block of Trumbull Court, where, in an unrelated situation, they reported two 12-year-old boys had engaged in a brief altercation with each other before being separated. No one was injured, however.

May 19

Arrests: While responding to a disturbance at a Trumbull Court apartment, police charged Marcus A. Washington, 24, of Trumbull Court, Liberty, and Anthony M. Ferrell, 26, of East Judson Avenue, Youngstown, with disorderly conduct after saying the two men had screamed at each other in a manner that alarmed several neighbors.

May 22

Arrest: Hubbard police handed J.C. Williams, 66, of Warwick Avenue, Youngstown, to township authorities. He was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Arrest: Officers picked up James Muldrow, 23, at the Mahoning County jail. Muldrow, of Trumbull Court, Liberty, was wanted on a warrant that accused him of failing to appear in court.

GIRARD

May 19

Assault: The owner of a West Liberty Street restaurant reported one employee had chest-butted another during an argument between them.

Identity fraud: A Trumbull Avenue woman told authorities that she was instructed to buy $1,200 in gift certificates at a local big-box store after she had applied for a loan online. The transaction was canceled, however, before the victim found out her bank account had been compromised, all of which resulted in a $1,953 loss.

May 20

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 100 block of East Main Street and removed a $100 mountain bike.

Criminal mischief: A woman reported a man who had come to her Crumlin Avenue home and claimed to be a professional roofer instead did $100 in damage to her shingles.

Possible overdose: Police were dispatched to a Shelby Avenue residence, where they reported having found a man lying face down in an upstairs bedroom near a spoon with burn marks typical in drug use, a used needle and a glass pipe with residue consistent with heroin use.

Trespassing/drugs: Officers who investigated a suspicious pickup truck near a viaduct off U.S. Route 422 charged Brandon J. Packard, 22, of Estate Circle, Youngstown, and a 17-year-old Girard boy with criminal trespassing. Packard also received a minor-misdemeanor citation when, police said, a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana was found in the vehicle.

Trespassing: Officers received information about two all-terrain vehicles on private property off West Liberty Street, where they charged Scott A. Sparks and Amanda M. Sparks, no information given, with criminal trespassing.

Trespassing: Merinda Caliguiri, 23, of Lemont Drive, Poland; Steven T. Wilson, 24, of state Route 7, Brookfield; John P. McFall, 26, of Lewis-Seifert Road, Hubbard; and Richard L. Wilson III, 25, of Warwick Road, Warren, all faced criminal-trespassing charges after authorities were dispatched to a set of railroad tracks on private property off Carlton Avenue, where a Jeep had reportedly broken down.

May 21

Trespassing: Police charged Lori L. Griffith, 21, of Leiby-Osborne Road, Southington, and Robert J. Petrilla, also 21, of McDonald Avenue, McDonald, with criminal trespassing after an officer on routine patrol reported having seen them on private property off Pleasant Valley Road. Petrilla also was given in minor-misdemeanor citation after having admitted he had a piece of suspected marijuana and a digital scale in the car, a report showed.

Theft: A North Avenue woman noticed various prescription medications missing from her apartment.

Trespassing: Dennis E. Mosely, 40, of West Second Street, Girard, faced a criminal-trespassing charge after police reported having seen a vehicle enter private property near Pleasant Valley Road.

Theft: A Girard man reported three yard signs advertising an event for an organization to which he belongs were stolen on and near North State Street.

Trespassing: Daniel S. Peterson, 21, of North High Street, Greenville, Pa., along with a 17-year-old Girard girl, was charged with criminal trespassing after officers alleged the two were on private property in the 1700 block of North State Street. The teen also was charged with disorderly conduct when, authorities alleged, she launched into a tirade that contained a veiled, implied threat.

May 22

Arrest: Weathersfield Township authorities handed Crystal S. Clemens, 36, to Girard police. Clemens, of North Cedar Street, Niles, was wanted on a probation-violation charge from Girard Municipal Court.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 100 block of West Second Street through a side window. A Sony PlayStation 4 game system, about 12 PlayStation games and $20 were taken.

Incident: A female reported that while on North State Street, a 17-year-old girl had yelled profanities at her in a threatening way.

Summonses: Austin J. Long, 22, and William R. Chase, 20, both of West Second Street, Girard, were charged with disorderly conduct after an officer on routine patrol alleged having seen the two men fighting each other in the vicinity.

Menacing: A man alleged his former girlfriend on three occasions drove past a residence he was visiting in the 100 block of East Wilson Avenue.

Trespassing: Officers filed criminal-trespassing charges against Jeffrey E. Jardine, 54, and Jeffrey E. Jardine II, 22, both of Smith-Stewart Road, Niles. Police tried to locate a vehicle that was stuck in mud on private property in the 1700 block of North State Street, also where the two men were found, a report stated.

May 23

Indecency: Authorities charged Elmer T. Gordon of Mosier Road, Girard, with one misdemeanor count of public indecency after alleging Gordon, 36, had been walking near an apartment complex clad only in a T-shirt and a pair of socks.
