CTNY’s ‘Wineskins’ wins award

The Catholic Television Network of Youngstown has received an award for excellence in the 23rd annual Communicator Awards for its radio program “Wineskins.”

The Communicator Awards recognize outstanding work in marketing and communications.

The leading international creative awards program of its kind, it honors those who successfully spread the message to the world.

The trophy is handmade by RS Owens, the same firm that produces the Oscars and the Emmy awards.

This is the eighth Communicator Award for CTNY.

“Wineskins” is a half-hour radio program conceived and produced by CTNY. It airs every Sunday over WKBN-AM 570 Youngstown at 7:30 a.m.; WILB-AM 1060 Canton and WILB-FM 89.5 Youngstown at 9:30 a.m. and 9 p.m.; and WSOM-AM 600 Salem at 11 a.m.

“Wineskins” addresses issues in today’s world and church while sharing faith and information.

Since its beginnings in 1981, the show has earned accolades, including Gabriel and Proclaim awards.
