YOUNGSTOWN
A man arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles who had used more than 40 different aliases over the years began his criminal career in Youngstown, according to the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force.
Solomon Brown, 65, was arrested Tuesday evening by members of the marshals’ Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force. In 1976 he was arrested for the robbery of a store in Youngstown, tying up the employees and robbing them at gunpoint, a news release from the marshals said.
Brown was sentenced to four to 25 years in prison for that crime and released from prison in 1985. He was in and out of prison several times and in 2007 went missing from law enforcement all together when he managed to elude the Adult Parole Authority.
In 2016, the Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force Cold Case Unit took up the case. The release said over the last 10 years Brown has 40 known aliases throughout Louisiana, Ohio and California.
Brown is being held in California.
