Gas prices up

YOUNGSTOWN

Gas prices in Northeast Ohio rose by nearly 10 cents this week to $2.308 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

In Youngstown, the average price is $2.246.

National gas prices are increasing for the first time in four weeks, with the average at $2.36/gallon – 2 cents more than a week ago, 6 cents less than a month ago, but 8 cents more than a year ago. The increases are likely the result of rising demand and crude-oil prices. At least 36 states saw price increases for the week, with national gasoline inventories dropping by 400,000 barrels to 240.7 million.
