DIVISION I

Who: Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit (17-6) vs. Canfield (21-5).

When: 2 p.m.

Where: University of Akron.

Other semifinal: North Canton Hoover (17-9) vs. Madison (18-3), 5 p.m.

Regional Final: Saturday, noon.

Notes: The Cardinals are making their second regional appearance in three seasons. Two years ago, Canfield was a Division II team and won the Alliance District. Walsh Jesuit is ranked No. 3 in this week’s state coaches poll and Canfield is No. 7.

DIVISION III

Who: Cardinal Mooney (18-6) vs. Champion (28-2)

When: 5 p.m.

Where: Massillon Washington High School.

Other semifinal: Elyria Catholic (13-8) vs. Massillon Tuslaw (24-5), 2 p.m.

Regional Final: Saturday, noon.

Notes: Champion, which is second in the state poll, has won the state crown three times since 2011. Several of their starters (McKenzie Zigmont, Molly Williams, Megan Turner) were starters on the 2015 team that won state. The Cardinals are making their first regional appearance since 2005. Head coach Mark Rinehart has 396 wins.

DIVISION IV

Who: Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas (15-11) vs. Mathews (20-7).

When: 2 p.m.

Where: Kent State University.

Other semifinal: Lucas (20-6) vs. No. 4 Jeromesville Hillsdale (24-4), 5 p.m.

Regional Final: Saturday, noon.

Notes: The Mustangs, ninth in the state poll, were state runners-up in 2012. This is their fourth regional trip in six seasons. St. Thomas Aquinas won the Western Reserve district.
