Mahoning Valley doctor gets probation for illegally prescribing drugs


YOUNGSTOWN — A doctor who pleaded guilty to 13 drug counts for illegally prescribing medicine was sentenced today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to five years' probation.

As part of his plea agreement Dr. William Paloski, 74, of Western Reserve Road, must also forfeit his medical license until his probation is over, firearms, a SUV and $250,000.

Paloski was indicted in February on 78 counts of illegally prescribing medication after a lengthy investigation by the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force.

The sentence was handed down by Judge R. Scott Krichbaum. It was agreed on and recommended by prosecutors and defense attorneys.
