Sharon street improvements slated next week

Staff report

SHARON, PA.

Work continues on the third phase of an improvement project designed to make Route 718 and 760 in Mercer County a safer, more efficient and more attractive travel corridor, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

Route 718 and 760 (South Dock Street) remains open for southbound traffic throughout the construction, but continues to be closed to northbound traffic. A detour for northbound traffic is posted using state Route 18 and East State Street (Route 3008).

Starting Monday, portions of Orchard Street and Wayne Place will also be closed to traffic near where the streets intersect with South Dock Street.

The detour for Orchard Street will use Dock Street, East Budd Street, and Walnut Avenue. The detour for Wayne Place will use U.S. Route 62, West Connelly Boulevard, and West Budd Street. The detours are expected to remain in place until early August 2017.
