West Branch Middle School band competes

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR West Branch Middle School band competed in the Solo and Ensemble Contest hosted by the Ohio Music Education Association on March 25. More than 50 West Branch students competed in 14 events, with 11 winning superior ratings, and three winning excellent. Students who won superior include: Alaya Kiser, clarinet; Abby Stephens and Julia Zamarelli, french horn; Cheyenne Saulsberry, Jillian Zamarelli and Danielle Harrison, trumpet; and James Cranston, Elizabeth McCune and Kiser, piano. Makenzie Walsh earned excellent with a snare drum solo. The clarinet and brass choirs earned superior, and the flute choir and saxophone ensemble earned excellent.
