Drew Mendik pitched five innings for JFK, striking out nine batters and giving up four runs. The Eagles’ offense was led by Mendik as well. He had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Greg Valant added four hits and an RBI for the Eagles. For Mathews, Mitchell Goff had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. JFK advances to the Lorain Regional where they will take on the winner of New Riegel and Calvert. The game will take place Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Pipe Yard Stadium.

Seth Schroeder drove in a pair of runs and socred two of his own to power the West Branch (20-9) offense. On the mound, Gino Sabatine pitched a complete game for the Warriors, striking out eight. TJ DeShields, Cole Bates, and Josh Stahler also had two hits each for West Branch.

Molly Williams had three hits and Molly White had two hits and three RBIs. Hannah Gresch also homered for the Flashes. Champion will take on Kirtland in the district championship game today at 5:30 p.m. at LaBrae High School.
