ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of ABWA will meet June 13 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Networking will be at 6 p.m. and the dinner will be at 6:30. Paul Miletta of Torrie’s Academy of Dance will be the speaker. The menu comprises baked ham, kielbasa with sauerkraut, pirogies, peas and carrots, salad, gelatin and strawberry mousse for dessert. CLUBS

Parents Without Partners, International Chapter 600 of Portage County, will host a pulled-pork supper with side dishes, desserts and coffee from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 3 at the Ritchie Memorial Shelter House, 109 West Ave., Tallmadge. Cost is $6. The monthly dance will take place from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Nonmembers are invited to join PWP members to celebrate the June dance theme, “Bring Your Best Friend.” Cost for the dance is $6 for members and $8 for non-members. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Austintown Friends of the Library will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the community room of the Austintown library. Rick Shale will discuss the history of the Valley’s industrialists. Rich Edwards will present an overview of the Western Port Authority. The meeting is open to the public.

Hubbard Friends of the Library will meet Monday in the main meeting room of the Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St. Social time starts at 6 p.m. and the business meeting at 6:30. The agenda includes the June 17 paperback book sale, a special summer get-together and the election of officers. All are welcome. St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the parish house.

Youngstown South Women's Connection will meet June 14 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. It will feature David Shovel of The Barbecue Grill. SOCIETIES

Niles Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ward-Thomas Museum, 503 Brown St. Thelma Synder and Nancy Malone will display the book, “The Electric Pullman: A History of the Niles Car & Manufacturing Company” by Larry Brough of Newark, Ohio. William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kravitz’s Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Admission is $5, and walk-ins are welcome. Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet at the following locations: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Easter Seals Adult Day Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman; and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Emanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. Friendship Train 12-Step Support Group is now meeting from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave. People who are trying to overcome any addiction are welcome and encouraged to attend. Those attending should enter through the church’s lower parking lot off Wardle.

NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support groups for those who deal with mental illness.
