Area April housing sales released

Pending housing sales were up across all the Mahoning Valley year-over- year in April, but closed sales were up just in Trumbull and Columbiana counties and down in Mahoning County.

In Mahoning County, closed sales were down 9.3 percent year-over-year to 206 in April, while pending sales were up 4.4 percent to 282, according to the Youngstown/Columbiana County Association of Realtors.

New listings in the county were up slightly by 0.3 percent to 342, and the inventory of homes for sale dropped 31.6 percent to 977.

The average sales price for a home in April was $110,893, a 9.3 percent increase over last year.

In Columbiana County, April closed sales were up 13.6 percent to 67, and pending sales were up 87 percent year-over-year to 129.

New listings in the country were up 20.8 percent to 128, and the inventory of homes for sale dropped 15.7 percent to 412.

The average sales price for a home increased 29.3 percent to $88,250.

In Trumbull County, April closed sales were up 16.3 percent to 178, and pending sales were up 46.1 percent to 260, according to the Warren Area Board of Realtors.

New listings in the county dropped 6.2 percent to 243, and the inventory of homes for sale dropped 24.7 percent to 780.

The average sales price for a home dropped by 11.4 percent to $85,989.
