Armed Forces Day event at Buhl Park

HERMITAGE, PA.

“Let’s Celebrate America,” a special Armed Forces Day event Saturday at Buhl Park, will include six performances. The event starts at 11 a.m. and will end with a closing ceremony at 6 p.m.

Here is the schedule: Shenango Valley Chorale, 11:30 a.m.; Sam Giannetti, 12:30 p.m.; Coleville, 1:15 p.m.; Swear Band, 2:45 p.m.; Getting’s Military Leadership Foundation, 4 p.m.; and Buhl Park Concert Band, 4:45 p.m.

The event also will include Civil War re-enactors, children’s activities, veterans memorabilia, information for veterans, and food vendors.

Museum schedules one-day bus tours

WARREN

Registration is now open for the Sutliff Museum’s one-day bus tours. Here is the schedule:

June 22: Kent Historical Society in the Clapp-Woodward House, followed by a trip to the Kent State University Museum’s exhibition of clothing worn during the 19th century, and a trip to the Portage County Historical Society. This trip will leave at 8:30 a.m. and the cost is $47.

July 19: The Daniel McCook House and the Algonquin Mill Complex in Carrollton. This trip will leave at 8 a.m. and the cost is $47.

The bus will leave from the parking lot of Walmart, 2016 Millennium Blvd., Cortland, and will return by 6 p.m. Each trip is limited to 42 people. For information or a registration form, go to sutliffmuseum.org or call 330-395-6575.

The Sutliff Museum is located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library at 444 Mahoning Ave. Admission is free, and the museum is handicapped-accessible. It is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
