Fatal Indiana crash involves Canfield man
WAYNE, Ind.
Indiana State Police are investigating an accident Thursday where reports said a man from Canfield tried to pass a truck on a two-lane road and collided with another car head-on, killing a 5-year-old girl inside that car.
A news release from police said Anthony Zircher, 45, was traveling on state Route 277 and tried to pass the truck when his car collided with a car in the southbound lane driven by Britney Bryley, 24, of Brownsville, Ind.
Reports said Bryley has severe injuries and had to be cut out of her car. The child, Jocelyn Grace Gesell, died later at a hospital. There also was a 1-year-old in the car. Both were in proper child seats, the release said. The 1-year-old is being treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.
Zircher complained of pain and was taken to a hospital with a nonlife-threatening injury.
Scammed of $4,800
AUSTINTOWN
A township woman was defrauded of $4,800, according to a police report.
The woman received a letter saying she won $2 million in a Mega Million Cash Reward with an enclosed check for $6,511. When she called a number listed on the letter, she was told the money was for “expenses” and to deposit the check and send $4,800 to a woman in Staten Island, N.Y. After sending the money, she realized the $6,511 check was bad, and she was the victim of a scam.

Boil-water notice
YOUNGSTOWN
A boil-water notice is in effect until at least today for residents on the West Side of Youngstown and the east side of Austintown – specifically those east of Raccoon Road, north of New Road and west of Belle Vista Avenue.
The Youngstown Water Department experienced a water pressure problem Wednesday after a contractor hit a major distribution waterline. Because of the low water pressure that resulted, the water department is recommending customers in the affected area boil water used for drinking and cooking. A roiling boil for one minute is adequate.
