Crossroads Community Baptist Church, Ann Arbor, Mich., was the setting of the April 22 wedding of Carol Ann Pitcairn and Edgar Joel Castaneda. Pastors Adrian Lioi and Kevin Richardson officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the Saline American Legion, Saline, Mich.

James and Dianne Pitcairn of Ellsworth are the parents of the bride, and the groom’s parents are Landelino Castaneda Martinez and Mirian Floradina Castaneda, both of Guatemala.

The bride wore a white ball gown enhanced with beading, crystals and embroidery on the sweetheart neckline, bodice and tulle train. Covered buttons adorned the back.

A sister of the bride, Lisa Pitcairn, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katherine Cole, sister of the bride; Sara Schill, cousin of the bride; Lupita Avina; and Amanda Hodge. Flower girls were Emelin Castaneda, sister of the groom, and Audrey Mirabel Hodge. The attendants wore French coral-colored dresses.

Efrain Avina performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were William Tobar; Salvador Sanchez; Josh Fowler, cousin of the bride; and Vinicius Rodrigues.

Mrs. Castaneda earned a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and a doctorate degree from the University of Michigan. She is a lecturer for the University of Michigan Department of Chemistry, Ann Arbor.

Her husband works in semi truck and trailer repair, and is a leader in the couple’s church.

The couple honeymooned in Hocking Hills, Ohio, and reside in Ypsilanti, Mich.
