All For the Kids
AUSTINTOWN
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, will present Hope Foundation founder Tony Spano with a senatorial citation commemorating All For the Kids Awareness Day on Monday. The citation was signed by state Sen. Joe Schiavoni of Boardman, D-33rd.
The day draws attention to families with children suffering from chronic or life-threatening injuries.
Both the public and the media are invited to attend a short news conference at 1 p.m. Monday at Leonard Kirtz School at 4801 Woodridge Drive.
Trafficking near school
NILES
Jason L. Clark, 34, of 58 E. Woodland St. in Niles and Market Street in Youngstown, was arraigned Friday in Niles Municipal Court on felony drug trafficking in the vicinity of a school after being arrested Thursday. No plea was required, and he was released on $7,500 bond.
The Woodland address is close to Niles McKinley High School. The charges resulted from an investigation by Niles police drug unit and Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task edForce that included purchases of heroin, Niles Police Department said on its Facebook page.
The charge Clark faces is a fourth-degree felony, punishable by up to 18 months in prison, if convicted.
Sports complex
LORDSTOWN
Lordstown schools will have a groundbreaking at 1:15 p.m. Monday for the soccer and track complex to be built at 1824 Salt Springs Road on the southeast side of the district campus.
The complex is being constructed with $1 million being donated by Lordstown Energy Center, the power plant being constructed in the Lordstown Industrial Park.
