Grand opening to be Saturday for Hubbard dog park

The grand opening of Scentral Park, a dog park at 6068 W. Liberty St., is from noon to dusk Saturday. The entire perimeter is enclosed by 6-foot chain-link fencing, and the park is divided into sections for large and small dogs. Updated vaccinations are required.

Diaper, baby wipes giveaway Saturday

WARREN

Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main Ave. SW, will host its second annual “Bundles of Blessings” baby diapers and wipes giveaway from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Each participant will receive a free bundle of diapers and pack of baby wipes. This outreach, hosted by the Mission’s Department, was made possible by the donations of the Second Baptist congregation, as well as donors from the local community.

The annual event, held in honor of Mother’s Day, is open to all mothers in Warren and the surrounding areas. Identification and registration are not required. Leftover supplies will be donated to local organizations that serve the mothers of young children.

Youngstown official to speak at meeting of Garden District

The Garden District Neighborhood Association will have its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, in Colonial Hall of St. John Lutheran Church, 1420 Mahoning Ave. President Jerry O’Hara will officiate.

Councilman Mike Ray, D-4th, will give an update of activities on the West Side and the city. Community Police Officer Melvin Johnson will attend. The meeting will be preceded by the quarterly Garden District Neighborhood Action Team meeting at 5 p.m. Bring a neighbor. Everyone is welcome.
