“August: Osage County,” directed by Matthew Mazuroski. Youngstown Playhouse, Glenwood Avenue, 330-788-8739, 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Callbacks will be Tuesday. Performance dates are Aug. 18-20 and 25-27. Winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Play, Tracy Letts’ darkly comic drama was made into a 2013 film starring Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. The cast calls for seven women, ranging in age from 14 to 65, and six men, from 37 to 69 years old. A full breakdown of characters is available on the Youngstown Playhouse Facebook page. Those auditioning are encouraged to be ready with a one- to two-minute serio-comic monologue; if one is not prepared, scripts to read will be provided. “August: Osage County” contains adult language and themes, and the play will be performed at the Playhouse without cuts or changes to the script.
