Christian Arroyo broke a ninth-inning tie with a three-run double and San Francisco took advantage of a critical error by third baseman Wilmer Flores, rallying past New York to stop a five-game losing streak. Hunter Pence hit a tying single off closer Jeurys Familia in a four-run ninth that gave the Giants (12-23) only their third victory in 11 games. Buster Posey homered again for San Francisco.

Rockies 3, Cubs 0

DENVER

German Marquez allowed three hits over eight innings and got his first major league hit with a two-run single in the seventh to lead Colorado over Chicago. Rays 12, Royals 1

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.

Chris Archer pitched eight shutout innings Wednesday night and Logan Morrison, Rickie Weeks Jr., and Colby Rasmus homered for Tampa Bay in a victory over Kansas City. INTERLEAGUE

Astros 4, Braves 2

HOUSTON

Carlos Correa had two doubles and two RBIs to help Houston to a win over Atlanta to give them the best 34-game start in franchise history. The Astros had two outs and two on in the fifth when Correa’s double off Jaime Garcia (1-2) landed in the left-field corner to score two runners for a 3-2 lead. Garcia walked Evan Gattis, and Yuli Gurriel’s single scored Correa.

Mariners 11, Phillies 6

PHILADELPHIA

Carlos Ruiz hit a three-run double against his old team, Robinson Cano and Danny Valencia homered and Seattle beat Philadelphia. Ruiz earned another standing ovation a day after he returned and was honored with a video tribute that highlighted his career with the Phillies. Ruiz was 3 for 30 this season before clearing the bases with a liner off the left-field wall in the seventh inning.

Nationals 7, Orioles 6

WASHINGTON

Matt Wieters hit a winning, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning against his former team, and Washington rallied to beat Baltimore and end the Orioles’ six-game winning streak. Washington trailed 6-2 in the seventh before coming back. Down by two in the ninth, the Nationals rallied against Brad Brach (0-1).

Rangers 5, Padres 4

ARLINGTON, TEXAS

Delino DeShields scored the tiebreaking run on a throwing error in the seventh, two innings after going home on a balk, and Texas beat San Diego. In a game that the Rangers were 1 of 13 with runners in scoring position, they also scored on a wild pitch. DeShields drew a one-out walk before Shin-Soo Choo also walked. Elvis Andrus then hit a potential double-play grounder, but second baseman Yangervis Solarte’s throw went wide.
