Campbell schools spring concerts

CAMPBELL

Campbell schools’ annual spring concerts will take place as follows:

Tuesday: Fourth and fifth grade, 6 p.m.; seventh and eighth grade, 7:15 p.m., in the Elementary/Middle School cafeteria.

May 17: High school, 6 p.m., at the Campbell Memorial High gym

May 18: Kindergarten and first grade, 6 p.m.; second and third grade, 7 p.m., in the Elementary/Middle School cafeteria.

College seeks works by young composers

HIRAM

The Hiram College music department is providing a free opportunity for high-school music composers to hear their works performed by the college’s chamber orchestra in the spring of 2018.

High-school student composers may submit their compositions written for string chamber orchestra, small string ensembles, or solo instruments accompanied by strings, to the High School Composers Project by emailing MillerLL@hiram.edu. In reply, students will receive additional information and an application form, which must by returned by June 15. Completed compositions are due by Oct. 1.

All submitted works will be considered, and all composers will receive comments from the panelists.
