Youngstown man faces drug-possession charges after arrest on South Side
YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said a man who crashed a car into a South Side fence about 12:45 p.m. Monday had to be chased down by paramedics before officers in possession of suspected heroin and cocaine.
Police were called to a vacant lot at Glenwood and West LaClede avenues for a report of a car that hit a fence there and a man slumped over. As officers arrived, they found paramedics on foot chasing the driver, Keith Crockett, 32, of Hilton Avenue, on Glenwood Avenue.
When officers arrived, Crockett said he was about to have a seizure and he then laid on the street and began writhing and shouting. Reports said when officers got him into a sitting position and stood him up, they found on him two doses of suspected heroin and a dose of suspected crack cocaine.
Crockett was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to be examined before he was booked into the Mahoning County jail on charges of possession of heroin and possession of crack cocaine.
