Jeremy Kreuzwieser’s bases-load single broke a 3-3 tie in the ninth inning and Bobby Cavalier followed with a two-run double. The Irish (7-16) advance to play today at Poland. Kreuzwieser had four hits and two RBIs while Jimmy Kerrigan had three hits and scored twice. Cavalier and Colin Balas each had two hits. For the Dukes (8-11), Brendan Stinson’s two hits included a double.

Hubbard 3 Struthers 2

Nick Ferrara pitched the Eagles (18-6) to a first-round postseason victory. Jamie Thomson had three hits, Kent Kroynovich had three RBIs and Ryan Love had two hits in the win. J.D. Hall and Chad Laczko had two hits each for Struthers (3-15) while Jake Shaffer doubled in the loss. Hubbard will play at West Branch today at 4:30 p.m. in a sectional final.

Southeast 8, Girard 3

Chase Miller pitched six innings, striking out nine Girard batters in a sectional-semifinal win. Nick DeGregory had two hits to lead the Girard offense.

Coleman Stauffer and Mike Fetsko each had three hits in Boardman’s win. Evan Knaus had a double and two RBIs for the Spartans (14-12, 6-3 All-American Conference Red). Mark Wittman had three hits to lead Canfield (14-6, 5-4) while Ian McGraw and Anthony Vross each had two hits, including a double in the loss.

Cardinal Mooney 3 West Branch 2 8 innings

Jake Fonderlin went 3-for-3 with two doubles in Mooney’s win. Antonio Page went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Bryce Richey went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Cardinals (12-7). Brennen Olesh pitched six innings of relief, allowing four hits, one earned run and striking out seven while walking four. For the Warriors (16-7), T.J. DeShields singled and scored. Seth Schroeder and Connor Hedrick also had hits.

Austintown Fitch 10 Lakeview 0

Thomas Pitko threw a shutout in the five-inning game, allowing two hits and striking out six in the win. Kenny Misik had a bases-clearing double with the bases loaded and Mike Grazier had an RBI double as well. Malik Caige and Nick DeSalvo each had two hits for Fitch (11-9). D.J. Morvay and Daniel Brammer each had a single for Lakeview (11-8).

Howland 3 Wadsworth 2

Dylan Keller pitched all seven innings, giving up five hits and one earned run while striking out nine and walking two in the win. Nate Leventis was 1-for-2 with a double, RBI and a run scored for Howland. Dylan Beasom was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Western Reserve 10 Leetonia 3

Ryan Demsky went 2-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored while Karl Klockenga went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Blue Devils (18-4, 8-2 Inter-Tri County League Blue). Danny McCool went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Bears.

Lisbon 10 McDonald 6

Logan Bell went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored while David Toot went 2-for-4 with two runs and Garrett Cox went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for Lisbon. Nick Shiley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for McDonald.

Columbiana 9 Lowellville 5

Chase Franken led the Columbiana offense going 3-for-5, including two triples and two runs scored. Mitch Davidson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Clippers (20-5). Dom Layko went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Matt Hvisdak went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Rockets.

South Range 23 United 7

Brandon Youngs’ three hits included a grand slam and two doubles for the Raiders (16-5, 7-1 ITCL Red Tier champions). Jack Bajerski and Ethan Dominguez each had four hits including a double. Dominguez also tripled and drove in six runs. Anthony Ritter’s two hits included a double. Michael Cunningham and Dan Ritter also doubled. Bajerski and Randy Skirpac both drove in two runs. For the Eagles, Mitch Davidson tripled while Parker Hydrick and Brady Leymen doubled. The latter drove in two runs. Hydrick, Leymen and Gunner McIntosh each had two hits.

East Palestine 18 Beaver Local 11

Alex Guy hit a grand slam and double for six RBIs. He also scored three runs, Marshall Huddleston’s four hits drove in three runs and he scores twice. Jordan Fristik contributed three hits and scored twice for the Bulldogs (10-10).

Mathews 9 Pymatuning Valley 5

Mitch Goff had two hits, including a double and had three RBIs in the win for Mathews (11-2, 10-1). Anthony Oulton and Brandon Smith each had two hits as well while Ian DeGaten had two RBIs for the Mustangs. Freshman Hunter Schoenfield picked up his first varsity win on the mound. Gunnary Ellis had two hits, including a double for Pymatuning Valley.

Garfield Heights Trinity 5 Warren JFK 4

Trinity came through with three in the fifth to come from behind to beat the Eagles. Ryan Lee went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for JFK.

Madison Kelly tripled and singled for the Rockets (5-10), who advance to play at Lisbon today in the sectional final. She scored four runs and drove in one. Brittany Chaibi had two hits and six RBIs while Olivia Sotlar hit a game-ending grand slam and finished with five RBIs. Hannah Johnston, Kira Sontag, Marissa Lellio and Isabella Sotlar each scored three runs. The Indians are 3-13.

The Irish pulled away in the later innings behind Emma Ericson two doubles, three RBIs and seven strikeouts on the mound. Gia Caldrone, Jenna O’Hara and Jordyn Kenneally also each doubled and had two RBIs. Marissa Annadona, Tashayla Harris and Payton Schuller had two hits for the Raiders. Harris had two RBIs for Harding.

Sullivan Black River 8 Cardinal Mooney 5

Grace Spencer homered, doubled and scored four runs to help the Pirates (17-5) rally past Mooney. Kelly Williams singled and doubled for the Cardinals (11-5).

Addy Jarvis tossed a three-hitter for the Eagles, striking out 14 in five innings and walking none. She hit a two-run double. Annie Zagorec also doubled. Both drove in three runs.

Brookfield 11 Crestview 1

Bailey Drapola went 4-for-4 while hitting for the cycle in Brookfield’s blowout win. Kenzie Drapola hit three home runs, each two-run homers. TaeYana Ashley had two hits and three RBIs. Brittany Coplentz had a double for Crestview.

South Range 5 United 1

Winning pitcher Caragyn Yanek (12-3) tossed a two-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two as the Raiders (13-4, 7-1 ITCL Red) clinched their eighth-straight league crown. Yanek tripled and scored on an error to lead off the game. She also singled as did Codi Taylor. For the Eagles, Anna Paterson tossed a three-hitter, striking out 11 and walking two.

West Branch 8 Springfield 0

Bailey Byers homered and drove in two runs for the Warriors (17-4). Grace Heath, Kelsey Byers and Delaney Rito each had two hits. For the Tigers (17-3), Lindsey Druschel, Josie Applegarth and Molly Pontius each singled.

McDonald 9 Lisbon 6 8 innings

Megan Ward went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI in the extra-inning win. Kendra Kelly went 3-for-5 as well with four RBIs and two runs scored for McDonald (15-0, 9-0 ITCL Blue). Sierra Schrader went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored as well. Marissa McDonough (14-0) tossed a five-hitter, striking out 14 and walking two. Morgan Highley’s three hits included two doubles and she drove in three runs. Gillian Stilson’s two hits included a double while Alyssa Tohm tripled for the Clippers (21-0). For Beaver Local, Tori Bowersock hit two singles and Hannah Call doubled.

Clara Janofa’s RBI single gave her 58 for her career, tying the school record. She was the winning pitcher and struck out five. Emma Minamyer had three hits while Janofa, Elly Exline, Sydney Kline and Bailee Thorn each had two for the Quakers. For the Bulldogs, Alisha Dean had two hits and scored twice.

Mathews 13, Pymatuning Valley 5

Alivia Oulton, Emily Durkach and Lauren Omerzo each knocked in three runs. Oulton and Durkach each hit a double and Noelle Migliozzi hit a two-run single. Nicole Watts struck out seven and walked one while pitching four innings to earn the win. Maddie Hurst had four hits for Pymatuning Valley and Samantha Kidd had four RBIs on three hits, including a two-run home run.
