Staff report

BOARDMAN

The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) and the Stage Door Dance and Theatre Arts Academy will present a 24-Hour Theatre Challenge on Friday and Saturday.

The event will begin with auditions at 8 p.m. Friday at the Stage Door, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, and conclude with performances of the productions at 8 p.m. Saturday. All are welcome to audition regardless of age or talent level, as well as attend the performances.

Interested actors must meet in the front lobby of Stage Door at 8 p.m. They must be ready to give a 30-second monologue of their own choosing. The participation fee is $10 for actors, due at the audition.

Actors will arrive for rehearsal at 8 a.m. Saturday and stay through the performances that evening (meals will not be provided).

Tickets for the performances will be $10 at the door. An awards ceremony will follow.

Proceeds will be split between MTC and the Stage Door. For information, go to millennialtheatre.org.

Joseph Asente, MTC’s artistic director, said he hopes the event will introduce participants to the world of theater and to MTC.

Teri Nobbs, owner-operator of the Stage Door, said the collaboration will benefit not only the two organizing groups but also the participants.
