Local school districts having kindergarten registrations for the upcoming school year:

Girard: St. Rose School, 61 E. Main St., is accepting registration for kindergarten through eighth grade for the 2017-18 school year. Call the school office to request registration material at 330-545-1163. Prospective parents may also schedule a tour of the school by making arrangements through the school office. The next screening will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. May 19. Call for an appointment. Incoming students for kindergarten must be 5 by Aug. 31. New Castle, Pa.: Mohawk Elementary School will have kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 school year May 15-16. Eligible students must be 5 years old before Sept. 1. Parents or guardians must pick up a packet at the elementary school, 351 Mohawk School Road, fill it out and return it before an appointment can be scheduled. A copy of the child’s birth certificate, updated immunization records and proof of residency must also be provided. Registration packets can be picked up from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday while school is in session. For information, call 724-667-7782.
