Ex-Fox News chief trying to sell NJ home

CRESSKILL, N.J.

Former Fox News chief Roger Ailes is trying to sell his New Jersey home and is asking for less than he paid for it.

NJ.com reports that Ailes, who is a native of Warren, lowered his asking price for the four-bedroom, 51/2 bathroom Cresskill home by $300,000 this week to $1.65 million.

Ailes originally purchased the home in 2000 for $1.85 million.

Property taxes for the dwelling are $40,240 a year.

Ailes resigned last summer after allegations of sexual harassment. Ailes has denied any wrongdoing.

‘Morning Joe’ hosts engaged

“Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski say they are engaged, confirming rumors of an off-screen romance that have been swirling since last year.

The MSNBC personalities revealed their engagement to Vanity Fair in an interview for an article published just after their show ended Thursday morning. The engagement was first reported by the New York Post’s Page Six earlier Thursday and confirmed with MSNBC by The Associated Press.

Regular panelist Harold Ford Jr. offered his congratulations at the top of Thursday’s show. Brzezinski thanked him before fellow co-host Willie Geist joked that Ford was congratulating the pair on the show’s ratings.

Final Ringling circus will be streamed live

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus first wowed audiences in the 19th century. For the iconic American spectacle’s final act, it will broadcast the final performance on a 21st-century medium: Facebook Live.

The company told The Associated Press this week that the final circus show on the evening of May 21 will be streamed live on the social media network and on the circus’s website. The final performance will take place at Nassau County Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y.

Earlier this year, Feld Entertainment, the company that owns the iconic circus, announced that the show would end in May.

The circus’s decline happened due to a variety of factors. Declining attendance, combined with high operating costs, changing public tastes and prolonged battles with animal-rights groups all contributed to its demise.
