UPDATE | Fatal fire this morning in Hubbard Township

The Ohio Fire Marshal is investigating a fatal fire that broke out in Hubbard Township this morning.

Crews responded about 7 a.m. to a report of a garage fire at State Line Road in Hubbard Township. There was an apartment above the garage.

Officials confirmed a man in his 20s has died, but have not yet released his name.

Firefighters had to bring in tanker trucks with water due to the lack of fire hydrants in the area. Officials closed State Line Road earlier this morning but it has since reopened.

Assistant Fire Chief Kent Kelley declined to comment on the fire's suspected cause, adding that it is still under investigation.

The blaze decimated the garage and attachment apartment. It caused minor exterior damage to the siding of a neighboring house.
