“What should I wish for, I have it right here,” said Louise Williams as she blew out her candles for her 101st birthday.
Williams celebrated her 101st birthday with friends and family members at Greenbriar Healthcare Center on April 8. Williams had family come in from all around like New Orleans and Boston to celebrate her special day.
“I’m so thankful to have some of my children here and their families and nieces and nephews,” said Williams’ daughter Charlene Galose.
Galose said when they asked Williams what she wanted for her birthday, she replied, “a handsome man with rosy cheeks.”
Williams was born in Warren and grew up in the Youngstown area. She dreamed of doing interior design and began working in a department store as an interior designer while taking night classes for accounting and bookkeeping. Eventually Williams became president of the Mahoning Valley chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants.
“It’s kind of like she’s a second mom to me, we are very close,” said Charlene’s son Derek Galose.
Charlene Galose said she is grateful for what Greenbriar has done for her mother and gave all the credit to activities director, Meghan Miller.
Williams celebrated with cake, ice cream, punch and a special musical guest from the Dana School of Music to play the violin.
