NORTH LIMA

A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning on state Route 164 south of Garfield Road, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

The Canfield patrol post is investigating the cause of the accident that occurred about 6:30 a.m. A patrol news release said the rider, James Hanlon Jr., 34, of Columbiana, was not wearing a helmet and “alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.”

The patrol said Hanlon was traveling south on Route 164, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the road, and was thrown from the motorcycle.

He was caught the next day at a home on the West Side.

Britton now faces new charges including fleeing and eluding and robbery. Prosecutors are seeking to have him tried as an adult.
