UPDATE | State troopers say alcohol played role in fatal Beaver Township cycle accident
NORTH LIMA — A motorcyclist was killed this morning on state Route 164 south of Garfield Road, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
The Canfield OSHP post is investigating the cause of the crash that occurred about 6:30 a.m. The agency reported that the rider was not wearing a helmet and “alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.”
“The motorcycle was traveling south on [state Route] 164 when the rider failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway,” OSHP said in a news release. “The motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway, ejecting the rider.”
The victim’s name had not been released late this afternoon, pending notification of the family.
