Collision on I-76

LAKE MILTON

The Ohio State Highway Patrol cited a New Jersey truck driver for assured clear distance Tuesday after state troopers said he collided with the back of another truck that had stopped for traffic about 10:50 a.m. in the westbound lane of Interstate 76.

A news release from the patrol’s Canfield Post said the truck, driven by Oleg Velisarov, went off the right side of the road just east of Newton Falls Road in Milton Township after the collision and hit a tree. Velisarov was ejected from the truck, reports said. The driver of the other truck was not injured.

Velisarov was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to be treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
