AUCTIONS

Knights of Columbus, Assembly 2596, will host a quarter auction at 7 p.m. May 13 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Doors open at 6. Admission is $10 and includes an auction paddle and non-alcoholic beverages. There will be a variety of baskets and gift cards for food and home, adults and children. BINGO AND CARDS

Holy Apostles Parish at St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 854 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, will be the location of a spring fling bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church hall. It is sponsored by the Altar and Rosary Society. Donations are $5 and include lunch and door prizes. Tickets will be available at the door. BOOK SALES

Friends of the Community Library of the Shenango Valley are hosting a used book sale in the basement of the library at 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, Pa., on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A large selection of both current and classic fiction, nonfiction and children’s books will be on display as well as a variety of audiovisual materials, puzzles and reference items. Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon, will have a book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There will be adult, teen and children’s books; audios and movies. The prices are hardbacks 50 cents; paperbacks 25 cents; audios and DVDs $1; all children’s books 25 cents; and magazines are free with any purchase. Enter at the garage off Vine Street.

FAIRS, FESTIVALS

Simply Slavic Festival organizers are seeking authentic Slavic retail, crafts, fine arts and food vendors for its seventh annual Simply Slavic Festival from noon to 11 p.m. June 17 on Federal Plaza East, downtown Youngstown. There is space for 15 food vendors and 10 marketplace vendors. Openings will be filled according to timing of request and the need to maintain variety of options for the booths. RAFFLES

Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., is hosting raffles for chances to win a 50-inch flat screen LED television and a $225 prepaid Visa gift card. Austintown Night Out committee is hosting a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 20 at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League will host a trash and treasure sale Saturday at Disciples of Christ Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road (U.S. Route 224), Boardman. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and brown bags can be filled for $5 from 1 to 3. No early sales. Proceeds will benefit local charities.

Canfield Heritage Foundation will host trunk and treasure sales at Loghurst Museum, 3967 Boardman Canfield Road, Canfield. They will take place the first and third Sundays of each month beginning Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Set up will be from 8 to 9 a.m. Cost is $10 per vehicle, vendors may sell from trunks or truck-beds, or use tents or tables. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will be closed Tuesday to prepare for the church’s garage sale this weekend.

Mount Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Road (state Route 165), North Lima, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, including a bake sale; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, half-price day; and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, $1 bag day.

Ohio Living Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, is accepting donations for its rummage sale that will take place July 11 through 31. No clothing, televisions or computer monitors will be accepted. Items that can be donated include appliances, baby items, books, collectibles, crafts, decor, furniture, jewelry, kitchenware, electronics and sporting goods. SHOWS

Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will host a craft show and bake sale at the church. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 12 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 13. Items include handmade crafts, jewelry, vintage clothing, candles, candy, American Girl doll clothing, vintage prints, wood paintings, teamology items, handmade baby clothing, shirts, ceramics, art works by Renee and more. TRIPS

Alexander Hamilton/Idora Park Carousel trip planned for July 18 through 20. See where Hamilton lived, dueled, dined and died, and ride the Idora Park Carousel. Trumbull County Travel Club next scheduled day outing will be May 23 to Jamestown, NY, to visit Lucille Ball’s hometown. Lunch is included and will be at the Tropicana, Ricky’s night club. In September, the club will do a three-day mini adventure to visit the Ark in Kentucky. In November, a trip is planned to Branson for seven days. Flyers are available and seating is limited.
