Poland Union Elementary School kindergartners dressed as their favorite character to sing in the annual kindergarten concert on March 8 at Poland Seminary High School.

The kindergarten students have been preparing for months to show off their singing skills to friends and families. Music instructor Dean Wilson works with the students to teach them not only words to songs, but how to read music.

The performance gives the students an opportunity to show the audience what they have learned during their music class at school. The students not only learned songs, but they also learned a dance that went along with one of the songs. There were also two students were selected to come to the front of the stage to sing a solo during one of the songs toward the end of the concert.

To show how proud and happy the staff at Poland Union was of the students, there were JibJab videos created with Principal Mike Masucci and all of the kindergarten teachers. The videos were shown to the audience during the concert while the students prepared for their next song.

All six kindergarten classes helped decorate plates that were raffled off at the end of the night. The kindergarten students also showed their appreciation for Wilson by giving him a gift when they finished their performance.

Pat Williams, PSHS broadcast teacher, recorded the performance and will put it on the Poland Union website for everyone to watch.
