Jimmy Kerrigan had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Chris Patton had three hits with four RBIs while also pitching five innings and nine strikeouts for Ursuline. Tyler Fitzsimmons and Tyler Hurd both had two hits for Crestview.

Poland 8, Perrysburg 5

Tony Chiaro went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs while Cole Kosco went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Winning pitcher Don Drummond had two singles.

Niles 7, Jefferson 0

Marco DeFalco struck out 17 Jefferson hitters in seven innings, allowing just two hits and two walks. Joe Proper went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base and Damion Coleman went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs as well.

Western Reserve 7, LaBrae 1

Senior Wyatt Larimer led the Blue Devils to victory in their season opener. The two-time Vindicator Pitcher of the Year gave up two hits, a walk and a run while striking out seven in five innings. At the plate, he collected three RBIs on two hits and scored a run. The Blue Devils scored six runs in the fourth to break the game open. Zach Morris took the loss for LaBrae (0-1).

Springfield 12, Sebring 2

Brannon Brungard’s three hits drove in four runs for the Tigers. Tyler Miletta scored three runs while Shen Eynon and Russ Seymour each had doubles.

East Palestine 3, Louisville 0

Winning pitcher Marshall Huddleston allowed just one hit, struck out 13 batters and pitched seven innings in a win for the Bulldogs. Trevor Kimmel went 3-for-3 and A.J. Stewart went 2-for-3 in the win.

McDonald 4, Wellsville 2

K. Donkers had two hits and scored once for McDonald. M. Ward, K. Kelly and R. Ward each drove in a run. R. Ward went seven innings and struck out 11.

Columbiana 2, Jackson Milton 1

The Clippers (1-0) were led on the mound by Chase Franken who threw a complete game to earn his first varsity victory. The freshman allowed one unnearned run while striking out 13, walking zero and allowing four hits.

Mathews 9, Badger 3

Ryan Kay pitched 14 strikeouts with zero walks. Mitch Goff had two hits with two RBI’s for Mathews. Curt Howser and Kolton Baer both had two hits with two RBIs for Badger.

Gia Caldrone had three hits and Cassandra Hanuschak had two hits. Jordy Kenneally improved to 2-0 with nine strikeouts for Ursuline. Autumn Oehlstrom had a double for Lisbon.

Boardman 7, Austintown Fitch 1

Boardman’s Vanessa Roush led the way for the Spartans with a double and three RBIs while Christina Tucker led Fitch with two singles.

Brookfield 15, Liberty 4

The Warriors handled business in six innings. Bailey Drapola hit a home run and added a triple. Lexi Hammond went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Sheridan Rotunno and Chloe Willrich each collected three RBIs. Gabby Schiska was the winning pitcher, giving up four runs on eight hits and six walks while striking out four.

Champion 13, Girard 3

McKenzie Zigmont threw six strikeouts with no walks. Megan Turner and Sophie Howell each had three hits and three RBIs for Champion. Jessica Doly had two hits for Girard.

Struthers 6, Edgewood 5

Khaylah Brown had two hits and scored once, Emily Grandy had two hits including a double, an RBI and scored once, Erika Bayer had two hits including a double, an RBI and scored three times and Trinity Farrar had three hits including a double, an RBI and scored once for the Lady Cats. Kayla DeGeorge had two hits including a double and Gabby McNeil had three hits including a homerun, three RBIs and scored twice for Edgewood.

Columbiana 8, Jackson-Milton 0

Marissa McDonough struck out seven Bluejays, walked none and gave up one hit in Columbiana’s win. McDonough also belted a double and had two singles in the win. Morgan Highley, Alexis Cross and Taylor Ross each had two singles in the win as well.

Springfield 15, Sebring 0

Nikki Bovo led Springfield’s offense by driving in six runs with a home run, triple and a single. Lindsey Druschel drove in three runs with a home run and a single. Brianna Yemma drove in three runs with three singles. Josie Applegarth and Jacqueline Kish combined to throw a two-hitter. Applegarth pitched four innings, striking out 12. Kish pitched the fifth and final inning, striking out two of the three batters she faced.

Mathews 13, Badger 1

Mackenzie Graham went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, four RBIs and two runs scored for Mathews (2-0). Bailey Hall scored three runs and Emily Derkach had three RBIs and two runs scored. Erin Stewart went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Savanna Eggins got the win by throwing two innings, giving up a run on two hits and a walk while striking out three. Nicole Watts struck out six in three innings in relief. Badger’s (0-2) Camryn Zeck had an RBI-double, knocking home Emily Sniezik, who also had a double.

Carrollton 10, Salem 0

Bailee Thorn had a triple, Katie Moore doubled and Hayden Carner singled for Salem. But Shelbee Stidom went the distance for Carrollton. She struck out seven batters in the shutout. Courtney Shine, Kaitlin Shine, Mica Monigold and Campbell each had two hits for Carrollton.
