HOWLAND

The probate judges in Mahoning and Trumbull counties hope to introduce the probate, juvenile and domestic-relations judges from all over Ohio to the good things to be found in the two counties.

The opportunity will take place June 5-8 when the annual conference of Ohio probate, juvenile and domestic relations judges will convene at The Avalon Inn and Resort.

In the evenings, attendees can tour Mill Creek Park, hear from Youngstown State University President Jim Tressel at Fellows Riverside Gardens and tour various other attractions.

“It’s an opportunity to showcase Trumbull and Mahoning counties, our historical sites,” said Trumbull County Probate Judge James Fredericka.

He and Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert Rusu Jr. stepped up to offer the Mahoning Valley as the site for the conference while attending last year’s conference. “It will allow us to show our community in a bright light,” Judge Rusu said.

The conference will feature speakers from around the U.S., educating judges and magistrates on topics pertinent to their field.

Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor will deliver the keynote address at the banquet.

In addition to Judges Rusu and Fredericka, other host judges are Judge Theresa Dellick of Mahoning County Juvenile Court and Domestic Relations Judge Beth Smith and Judges Pamela Rintala and Sandra Stabile Harwood of Trumbull County Family Court.
