BASEBALL
Niles 4, Hubbard 1
Tyler Srbinovich pitched a complete game for Niles, striking out nine and allowing just one run. Srbinovich also had an RBI on the offensive side, while Tre Martin had three hits for the Dragons. Ryan Love and Lukas Masora had two hits each for Hubbard.
Struthers 3, Edgewood 1, 8 innings
Kevin Caldwell’s two-RBI single in the top of the eighth was the difference in an extra-innings game over Edgewood. Tanner Sargent also had an RBI in the win. Vince Cummings picked up the win in relief, pitching 22/3 innings after starter Jake Rudzik went 51/3 innings.
Lakeview 3, Jefferson 2
David Morvay had nine strikeouts for Lakeview, allowing just one hit in five innings. Morvay, Brock Sarko, and Justin Grove each had an RBI for the Bulldogs.
Poland 11, Maret (DC) 1, 6 innings
Dan Klasae struck out seven Maret batters in the game at Myrtle beach, S.C. Don Drummond went 2-for-3 with a triple. Pad O’Shaughnessy went 3-for-4 and Braden Olson had a double in his 2-for-3 performance.
Poland 13, Haysfield (MN), 1, 6 innings
Pad O’Shaughnessy earned the win while going 3-for-4 with a double. Nick Fabrin went 2-for-2 with a double and Braden Olson also went 1-for-2 with a double.
West Branch 11, Louisville 5
Brent Alazaus pitched six innings striking out seven and allowing one run. Alazaus also had an RBI single for West Branch. Tyler Adams had thee hits and Corey White had an RBI double for Louisville.
Warren JFK 10, Bristol 4
Greg Valant drove in three runs and Ryan Galle drove in two to lead the Eagles. Drew Mendik went five innings and recorded nine strikeouts.
SOFTBALL
Lakeview 13, Jefferson 10, 6 innings
Avrey Steiner and Kylee Mann each had three hits as Lakeview pulled out a victory in a slugfest. Sam Marino and Tori Wells had three hits each as well. Marino led Lakeview with four RBIs while Wells and Steiner had three. Pitcher Cait Kelm was feast or famine, striking out 12 Jefferson batters and walking nine in the winning effort.
McDonald 11, Windham 1
K. Kelly recorded four RBIs on five hits while O. Sanson added two RBI’s on three hits to lead the Blue Devils. C. Titus went seven innings with 15 strikeouts.
Crestview 8, Beaver Local 5
Crestview recorded all eight runs in the first three innings. The Rebels collected 11 hits. Haley Eskra, Brittany Coblentz and Whitney Cope each drove in two runs. MacKenzie Daub tossed seven innings, striking out six.
Louisville 10, Salem 0
Louisville jumped out to a nine run lead, including two homeruns, in the first inning. Thorn had the Quakers lone hit with a single to lead off the game. Salem had four errors in the loss.
