“Nobodies” (10 p.m., TV Land): In the new cable sitcom “Nobodies,” Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras play three unknown comedians struggling for their big break. Melissa McCarthy is an executive producer and will appear in two episodes.

Weakland performs at New York fest

YOUNGSTOWN

Carol Weakland, a Youngstown -based actress, author and storyteller, will perform her one woman play “The Cricket on the Hearth” this evening at the United Solo Artists Festival in New York.

Weakland, who created a repertoire of more than 20 one-woman shows based on famous literature, has performed in the Mahoning Valley for many years, but this is the first time she has ever performed in New York.

“The Cricket on the Hearth” is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ tale about an angelic presence who safeguards her charges on Christmas Eve. To learn more, go to carolweakland.com.

The United Solo, now in its eighth season, is the world’s largest solo theater festival. It is staged at Theatre Row, 410 W. 42nd St., New York.

Readings of plays at Victorian theater

YOUNGSTOWN

The Victorian Players, 702 Mahoning Ave., will present an afternoon of staged readings of one-act plays featuring four local playwrights, at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

The plays are:

“Astrid, My Swedish Mama,” by Anita Gorman

“Bring Me To Life,” by C. Richard Haldi

“Hold That Thought,” by Michael Hill

“Dad’s Tale,” by Terry Shears

Participating as readers will be Angelina Tiberio, Anita Gorman, Stephen Kountz, Selena Phillips, Rick Haldi and Craig Conrad.

Audience members will be encouraged to ask questions and give feedback after each presentation.

Autism Society plans 5K run, walk

AUSTINTOWN

The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley’s fourth annual 5K run and Family Fun Walk will take place April 22 at Austintown Township Park, 600 Kirk Road.
