AUCTIONS

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph the Provider Cultural Society, will sponsor its annual basket auction April 23 at 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the auction starts at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes one sheet of tickets, a bowl of haluski and a cookie.

St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, will sponsor its third quarter auction April 28. The event is for adults (21 and older). Doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction begins at 7. Tickets are $10 and include admission and a bidding paddle. There also will be 50-50 and lottery tree raffles. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. St. Joseph the Provider School, Youngstown, will host its annual basket and gift auction with a buffet dinner April 21. It will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the buffet will be served at 6:30. Entertainment will be by Jim Loboy. The cost is $25 and includes dinner and 25 tickets, and can only be purchased in advance. BINGO AND CARDS

Girard 2172 F.O.E. Hall, 26 W. Wilson Ave., will be the location of a bingo/card party Sunday to benefit Sara’s Garden and the mentally challenged. Doors open at noon and bingo begins at 1 p.m. The cost is $5 and includes a master sheet and a pasta salad luncheon. Extra sheets are $1 each. Specialty games also will be available. Take a nonperishable item to benefit Emmanuel Center and receive an extra card, limit of one per person. A 50-50 and basket raffle also will be featured. Door prizes will be drawn at intermission.

CRAFT SHOWS

Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., will host its 10th annual craft and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be 30 local crafters and vendors, an auction, ticket raffle, hot foods, sweet treats and face-painting. Admission is $2 or a donation of shampoo or bar soap. Canfield Lions Club will host it’s annual spring craft, antique and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive. There will be more than 100 vendors, a basket auction, raffle and hot food available. Admission and parking are free. Lions serve the community by feeding the hungry, and through disaster relief, charitable donations and scholarships to Canfield High School. Their primary focus is the eye program in the schools and at the county fair. They also provide eye exams, glasses, and eye care for those less fortunate.

FESTIVALS

Simply Slavic Festival organizers are seeking authenic Slavic retail, crafts, fine arts and food vendors for its seventh annual Simply Slavic Festival from noon to 11 p.m. June 17 on Federal Plaza East, downtown Youngstown. There is space for 15 food vendors and 10 marketplace vendors. Openings will be filled according to time of request and the need to maintain variety of options for the booths. The confirmation deadline for previous vendors is April 15. Applications from new vendors will be accepted after this date, but questions are welcome at any time. FUNDRAISERS

Campbell Memorial High School Band is organizing a day trip to Seneca Allegany Casino, Salamanca, N.Y., on April 29. The trip will include Vegas-style gaming as well as several restaurants and cafes, complimentary beverage service and free coat check. Departure will be at 7 a.m. from the high school; arrive at 11 a.m. at Seneca Allegany Casino; depart the casino at 5 p.m.; and arrive at 9 p.m. at the high school. NIGHTS AT THE RACES

Rich Center for Autism is hosting its fourth annual Night at the Races on April 22 at St. Michael Family Life Center, 350 N. Broad St., Canfield. Tickets are available by contacting Mona Bozick at 330941-1532 or mbozick@ysu.edu or online at www.richcenter.org. Tickets are $20 and include a pizza and appetizer buffet. Take your own beverages. Doors open at 6 p.m., and races begin at 6:45. The Rich Center is tuition-free and relies on private donations, grants and fundraising events to bridge the gap for expenses.

RAFFLES

Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., is hosting two raffles for a 50-inch flat screen LED television and a $225 prepaid Visa gift card. Tickets are $5 and winners will be announced at the annual Cars are the Stars 3 benefit classic car show set for June 3 (rain date June 10). Proceeds will benefit the center. Austintown Night Out committee is hosting a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 20 at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Vendor spaces are $10 each and the event will be outside. Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St., Warren, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 7. Early birds are welcome at 8 a.m. for a $5 donation. Sale also will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8 with $2 per bag from noon to 2 p.m. Collectibles, electronics, clothing, household items, books, toys and tools will be available.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothing for the entire family. March specials include a winter clearance on everything in the shop excluding prom dresses and yellow tickets, spring items. All clearance items will be $1. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays.

Poland Lions are hosting a Treasures of the Trunk sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10 at Poland High School stadium parking lot. Vendors are being sought for this one-day sale from the trunk of your car. Crafters, home goods, furniture, toys, specialty items and garage sale items are welcome. There are 100 spaces. Trinity United Methodist Church, 2427 Columbiana Road, New Springfield, will host its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 7 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8. Clothing, household items, trash and treasures will be for sale. Lunch will be available featuring homemade vegetable soup. Soup also will be for sale by the quart for carryout.

TRIPS

Trumbull County Travel Club announces plans for its annual Spring Wine Crawl on April 18. Members and nonmembers must be over 21 to participate. We will depart at 9 a.m. for Volant, Pa.
