Police tackle juvenile suspect after burglary report

YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said police early Sunday tackled a juvenile carrying a large gun while answering a burglary call at a home in the 309 block of West Midlothian Boulevard.

Reports said police were called to the home for a burglary in progress with guns involved and when officers arrived an officer in the front saw someone in an upstairs window who then ran out of the back of the house.

Reports said officers there chased the person, who dropped a rifle and was tackled when he tried to climb over a fence and was handcuffed after a brief struggle.

Another person managed to elude police.

Jewelry and video game equipment were stolen, reports said. Reports did not indicate if the person taken into custody was issued a citation or taken to jail.
