Food policy expert reading, workshop

YOUNGSTOWN

Food policy advocate Mark Winne will present a reading at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., at 7 p.m. April 5, sponsored by Lit Youngstown.

The reading will be followed by a question and answer session moderated by WYSU-FM’s Tim Francisco. Due to the reconstruction of Wick Avenue, parking will be available in the auxiliary lot of Youngstown State University on Walnut Street, next to the MVR restaurant.

Winne, of New Mexico, has 40 years of food policy experience. He will lead a free noon luncheon-workshop on April 5 at St. John’s on bringing grocery stores to urban neighborhoods (reservations required by Monday; email Lit-Youngstown@gmail.com). Anyone interested in economic development, health and food policy in the Valley is welcome.

Kansas concert is rescheduled

AKRON

The only thing that could stop Kansas from performing in Northeast Ohio last year, was the Cleveland Indians. The concert was scheduled for the night that ended up being Game 6 of the World Series, so the band and promoter The Elevation Group postponed it.

The concert has been rescheduled for Nov. 25 at the Goodyear Theater, where it was originally booked.

Kansas will perform its “Leftoverture” album in its entirety. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketfly.com, or by calling 877-435-9849.
