Programs will feature wildlife and outdoors

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will host Gardening in Deer Country, set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The gardening program will be presented by Cynthia Druckenbrod of Cleveland Botanical Garden, and will discuss how to protect gardens from deer. Registration is required by calling the library at 330-332-0042, or by visiting its website, www.salem.lib.oh.us.

Participants of Go Wild in the Park will paint birdhouses and create bird feeders with pinecones, peanut butter and seeds from 5 to 6 p.m. April 5. This will take place at Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. All materials will be provided. Children should be dressed for working with paint and peanut butter.

The program is hosted in partnership with Salem Parks and Recreation Department, and registration is required by calling the library, going to the library website, or by calling Shane at 330-332-5512.
