First Niles Financial Inc., the holding company for Home Federal Savings and Loan Association of Niles, recently announced Lance Osborne has joined the board of directors of both institutions.

Raul Chavez and Christian Flores recently were awarded as “Grooms of the Month” for the month of March at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown.

Eligibility for the title was based on being a licensed groom at the local track. The winners were reviewed by a committee of the Mahoning Race Track Chaplaincy.

A thoroughbred horse groom is responsible for the care of the horse including feeding, grooming, cleaning the stalls and attending to its general care. Grooms possess understanding of anatomy, horse health, tacking, horse behavior, lameness, advanced bandaging and first aid.

Tim Cearfoss, an American Family Insurance agent in Youngstown, has been recognized for providing an outstanding customer experience under the American Star Excellence in Customer Experience Certification Program.

The service excellence distinction was determined through an evaluation process conducted under guidelines established through the American Star Excellence in Customer Experience Certification Program. The process consists of a customer satisfaction survey which measures customers’ overall experience with their current American Family agent.

Cearfoss has been an agent for American Family since August 2008.
