Death ruled natural

WARREN

The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office says the death of a Girard man, 52, early Wednesday on state Route 5 in Bazetta Township has been ruled natural, probably from a heart-related illness, and not because of a car accident.

William C. Ketterer, 52, died shortly after he was involved in a single-vehicle accident in which he lost control on snow-covered state Route 5 in Bazetta Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at 5:58 a.m. when the man’s pickup truck struck a guardrail on the right side of the highway heading west.

Used grease stolen

AUSTINTOWN

Used oil and grease was stolen from Salvatore’s at 4831 Mahoning Ave. some time in the last month, according to a report.

An employee for Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. told police his company is responsible for removing used oil and grease from Salvatore’s, which it uses to make biofuels. The employee said he emptied and secured the container Feb. 13, but it was emptied again and the grate and padlock securing the grease were missing when he returned March 20.

The employee told police there is a lot of money in the grease business and he suspects a competitor may be stealing the grease.

YSU policy OK’d

YOUNGSTOWN

A new Youngstown State University policy on the accessibility of electronic and information technologies has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

The approval is another step in the university’s agreement with the federal education department’s Office for Civil Rights to ensure that YSU’s website and its course managements systems, such as Blackboard, are accessible to individuals with disabilities, particularly those with visual, hearing and manual impairments.

The university has formed a work group, developed nondiscrimination notices, launched a new compliant website and trained nearly 1,200 employees to ensure compliance with federal civil-rights laws prohibiting discrimination based on disability.
