ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 10 a.m. April 1 at Ohio Living Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. CLUBS

Warren Women’s Connection, an affiliate of Stonecroft Ministries, invites all women to its April 10 luncheon at DiLucia’s Banquet Center, 2510 Elm Road NE, Warren. It takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Reservations for the luncheon are required, the cost is $13. Sandy Bartz, a teacher, antique dealer and cancer survivor from Hudson, Ohio, will be the speaker and will present a feature on lighthouses. Music will be provided by Dan Barker of Cortland. LEAGUES

Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League will meet at 7 p.m. April 3 at Glenellen Assisted Living, 9661 Market St., North Lima. Members will be preparing for a raffle based on the Ohio Lottery. Tickets are $5 and are available from any league member. Kirsten Weaver will discuss her trip to Jamaica with Therapy Missions. Hostesses are Joyce Martin, Sperry Rongone and Cheryl Smaldino. The Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League is open to all women over 18, residing in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties who are interested in friendship, fun and community involvement. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Poland Library will meet April 4 at the Poland Library, 311 S. Main St. Coffee time will be at 9:30 a.m. and the program and business meeting will follow at 10. “The History of 19th Century Fashion” will be presented by Traci Manning. Hostesses will be Pamela Durkin, Mary Lou Carbon, Beverly Gibson and Carol McCoy. Donations of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs are accepted at each meeting for the Poland Friends book cart. The meeting is open to the public, and new members are welcome. Membership dues are $10 a year.

POLITICAL CLUBS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club dinner meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. April 5 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Judge Mary DeGenaro, Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals, will discuss the Constitution and the Judicial Branch. Dinner will be stuffed pork chops, spinach salad, twice baked potatoes, vegetable and cake for $15 per person. Spouses and friends are encouraged to attend. Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection is hosting a luncheon “No Foolin’ It’s April” from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 12 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Girard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barnhisel House, 1011 N. State St.

Struthers Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. April 2 at the society museum, 50 Terrace St. Attendees are invited to take an antique for show and tell. Refreshments will be served. Society membership is $10 per person and $15 per family.

Vienna Historical Society will sponsor Cassie Nespor, Melnick Medical Museum curator at Youngstown State University, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vienna Township Hall. She will discuss polio and the American culture.

William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kravitz’s Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Admission is $5, and refreshments will be served.
