AUCTIONS
Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph the Provider Cultural Society, will sponsor its annual basket auction April 23 at 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the auction starts at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes one sheet of tickets, a bowl of haluski and a cookie.
Ursuline High School Baseball Team will sponsor its fourth annual Quarter Auction Friday in the high school cafeteria, 750 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Bidding will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and include one bidding paddle. Participants must provide their own quarters. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling 330-503-8383, 330-792-6863 or 330-502-4845. Beer, soda and water will be available for purchase and attendees make take their own beverages and snacks. All proceeds will benefit the varsity and junior varsity baseball programs.
BINGO AND CARDS
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Mothers of the Crucifix Society, will host a bingo and card party at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church social hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown. Lunch will be included in the $6 cost. There will be door prizes, a basket auction and pot of gold.
CRAFT SHOWS
Canfield Lions Club will host it’s annual Spring Craft, Antique and Quilt Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 1 at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive. There will be more than 100 vendors, basket auction, raffle and hot food available. Admission and parking are free. Lions serve the community by feeding the hungry, disaster relief, charitable donations and scholarships to Canfield High School. Its primary focus is the eye program in the schools and at the county fair. They also provide eye exams, glasses, and eye care for those less fortunate.
FUNDRAISERS
Campbell Memorial High School Band is organizing a day trip to Seneca Allegany Casino, Salamanca, NY, on April 29. The trip will include Vegas-style gaming as well as several restaurants and cafes, complimentary beverage service and free coat check. 7 a.m. departure form Campbell Memorial High School; 11 a.m. arrival at Seneca Allegany Casino; 5 p.m. departure from Seneca Allegany Casino; 9 p.m. arrival at Campbell Memorial High School. The cost is $50 per person, and includes $25 slot dollars bonus and $10 for food. Make checks payable to Campbell City Schools and mail to 280 Sixth St., Campbell, OH 44405, Attn: Melinda Fitzhenry. SALES
Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St., Warren, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 7. Early birds are welcome at 8 a.m. for a $5 donation. Sale also will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8 with $2 per bag from noon to 2 p.m. Collectibles, electronics, clothing, household items, books, toys and tools will be available.
Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothing for the entire family. March specials include a winter clearance on everything in the shop excluding prom dresses and yellow tickets, spring items. All clearance items will be $1. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays.
Trinity United Methodist Church, 2427 Columbiana Road, New Springfield, will host its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 7 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8. Clothing, household items, trash and treasures will be for sale. Lunch will be available featuring homemade vegetable soup. Soup also will be for sale by the quart for carryout.
TRIPS
Alexander Hamilton/Idora Park Carousel trip planned for July 18 through 20. See where Hamilton lived, dueled, dined and died, and ride the Idora Park Carousel. Trumbull County Travel Club announces plans for its annual Spring Wine Crawl on April 18. Members and nonmembers must be over 21 to participate. Departure will be at 9 a.m. for Volant, Pa. Browse historic downtown before visiting the Knockin-Noggin Winery and Cider Mill. Lunch will be at the Timbercreek Brewery before visiting the Wendell August Forge.
