v Maple Syrup Festival, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: This free event at Boardman Park on U.S. route 224 includes maple syrup making demonstrations. Part of the fun is a pancake breakfast ($6, free for children 6 and under); boardmanpark.com.

v Dana Chorale, 4 p.m.: The choirs of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Canfield Presbyterian Church, and First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown will join the Dana Chorale at the end of the concert (free, but offerings will be accepted) to sing “Ain’-a That Good News” and “Praise His Holy Name.” It’s at Westminster Presbyterian, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman.

v “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” 2 p.m.: Stage adaptation of the Ken Kesey novel that was made into a landmark movie in the 1970s, on stage at Salem Community Theater, 490 E. State St., Salem; 330-332-9688.

v “Beauty and the Beast,” 2 p.m.: Howland High School Drama Club will present the Disney classic (which was released as a live-action film this weekend) in the Howland Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are $15 ($10 for students).

v Mahoning Valley Chorale, 3 p.m.: A one-hour Lenten concert title “A Time for All Things” (free but offerings will be accepted) at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2985 Center Road, Poland; 330-540-8589.

“Into the Badlands” (10 p.m., AMC): As Season 2 of the martial arts drama “Into the Badlands” begins, Sunny and M.K. are separated, each imprisoned in unlikely places. While M.K. struggles to control his powers, Sunny is determined to fight his way back into the Badlands to find his family — or die trying.

“Shades of Blue” (10 p.m., NBC): Uh-oh, there’s more trouble for Harlee on “Shades of Blue.” After Wozniak refuses to play ball with the FBI, Stahl turns up the heat on Jennifer Lopez’s character, who lands in the middle of Wozniak’s dangerous plan to free himself from the Feds by reeling in a bigger fish.

“Feud: BETTE AND JOAN” (10 P.M., FX): The diva-licious antics on “Feud: Bette and Joan” continue. As production on “Baby Jane” winds down, the rivalry becomes physical. Meanwhile, Bette’s relationship with her daughter becomes strained, and Joan reveals an intimate detail about her past.

Student art show at the McDonough

YOUNGSTOWN

The 81st annual juried Student Art and Design Exhibition, sponsored by the Student Art Association at Youngstown State University, opens Friday at the McDonough Museum of Art on the YSU campus and runs through April 7. It features works by YSU art majors.

Awards will be presented at 7 p.m. on the opening night reception.

This year’s curator is Adam Welch, former curator at Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.

Parking is available in the M30 deck, accessible from Walnut Street only due to the ongoing reconstruction of Wick Avenue, for a nominal fee.
