Nicolette A. Demyan and Matthew G. Kowal were married Jan. 28 at St. Joseph the Provider Church. The parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Demyan of Struthers. The parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kowal of Youngstown.

The afternoon ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Philip Rogers and Deacon Paul Lisko. A reception followed at Stambaugh Auditorium.

The bride wore a fitted A-line gown adorned with beading.

Alissa Belasco was the honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Danielle Driscoll, Julianne Reitenbach, Kristy Vrona, Brittany Stocker, Maureen Cartwright, Pamela Sobinovsky, Kaitlin Lehner, Kaitlyn Kowal and Lauren Kowal. Giada DeSantis and Mackenzie Kowal were the flower girls. Attendants wore black-sequined dresses.

Ryan Kowal and Matthew Callahan shared the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Kenny McBride, Anthony Yurcho, Michael Calcagni, Joey Demyan, Ben Habuda, Derek Parillo, Daniel Demyan and Conrad Sander. The ring bearer was Quintino DeSantis.

Mrs. Kowal graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and is a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Mr. Kowal graduated from YSU with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed as a suspension systems integration engineer for General Motors in Milford, Mich.

The couple traveled to Riviera Maya, Mexico, for their honeymoon and reside in Brighton, Mich.
