Federal Frenzy festival to feature Judah and the Lion

Federal Frenzy, the annual downtown street festival that kicks off the summer season, will take place April 22 with rock band Judah and the Lion as the headliner. Admission is free.
The festival, a production of Youngstown State University, will feature a multitude of bands on several stages.
A dozen bands that have members who are students, faculty or staff of YSU will perform inside downtown bars between 2 and 8 p.m. Each band will do a 45-minute set on the indoor stages, which will be inside Suzie’s Dogs and Drafts, The Federal and O’Donold’s Pub.
Several regional bands will perform on the outdoor stages. The main stage will be on West Federal Street, between Phelps Street and Wick Avenue, with a second stage, sponsored by The Summit radio, elsewhere on Federal Street. This lineup will be released closer to the date of the event, as it becomes finalized.
West Federal Street between Hazel Street and Wick Avenue will be closed to traffic, as will North Phelps Street between Commerce and Boardman streets, said Carolyn Jesko, assistant director of programming for YSU’s student activities department.
New this year will be a pop-up Youngstown Flea market along West Federal Street. The regularly scheduled Youngstown Flea will also take place that day at its usual location outside of Covelli Centre. Youngstown Flea vendors include regional artists and craftsmen.
There also will be outdoor beer and food vendors.
Nashville-based Judah and the Lion is a rising act whose latest album, “Folk Hop N Roll,” includes the single “Take It All Back.”
